First a Happy New Year to all our readers.

Most interesting fact to catch my eyes is that the world federation is raising the age limit for seniors to be raised from 58 to 60, this will be phased in over the next 3 years.
Apparently we are all living longer and there will be too many of us in the categories.

The new laws come into effect on 1st of January 2008 but NBOS have until 30th September to enforce them

There will be a Women’s Bridge Festival in 2008, full details may be found at the Women’s Bridge Website http://www.worldbridge.org/

 While we are mentioning women congratulations to the four listed Women World Grand Masters from the U.K.

Some of my holiday reading included some articles by Mark Horton.  Here are a few gems which you might like to show to your regular partners  I know I am going to leave this out for his perusal.

1. Consider your partner your friend even if you have
   just met.
2. Tolerate errors
3. keep a straight face
4. Stay calm.

How hard are these?   I think that  no.3 is the hardest especially when playing with someone who knows you only too well.  But lets keep trying.
