Well, Happy New Year to all.

We are feeling a little flat at the moment, we should have been jetting towards the sun this weekend but have had to delay our holiday while we wait for medical results, not mine for once!!!

There doesn’t not seem to be much news around either  everyone seems to be hibernating.

Hugh Arnold from Swansea reports a curious deal in Bridge

His partner dealt herself AKQ of all suits with the 13th card the Jack of Diamonds.  Apparently the odds against this happening are 635,013,559,600 to 1.

XX   abbreviation for redouble in bidding diagrams or the naming of contracts.

Yarborough  hand containing no honour card.

Zero the lowest possible score on a deal in a match point contest.

Zilch slang for nothing.
