December Bridge Letter
 2008

Who can believe that Christmas is really upon us !!
I really love this time of year and our spare bedroom is full of prettily wrapped presents,  the only problem I have with Christmas shopping is knowing when to stop.

Firstly this month big congratulations to England on their magnificent performance in the 1st world Sports games.

Beijing.

The women’s team won the gold medal.(Heather Dhondy, Nicola Smith, Catherine Draper, Sally Brock, Anne Rosen and Nevena Senior.  Martin Jones was the Captain and Sandra Penfold was the coach.)

While the women were securing the gold the under-21s were taking the silver.(Ed Jones, Michael Byrne[captain, Tom Paske, Alan Shillitoe[coach], Dan McIntosh, Ben Paske, Rob Myers and Alan Hickman).

Yet another silver medal appeared when the Open Teams matches were over.( Simon Cope [coach], Justin Hackett, David Gold, Nick Sandqvist, Tom Townsend, Jason Hackett, Artur Malinovski and Phil King[captain] ).
